Configuring System Health

Use the optional configuration parameters in the System Health widget if you want to customize the content displayed in the widget and the rate at which that content is refreshed.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that you have logged in to your business space and that you have the System Health widget open.
  2. From the widget menu, click Edit Settings.
  3. Perform one or more of the following configurations.
    Option Description
Customize the widget to provide status on the subset of system components that you want to monitor By default, all item types are selected; clear any that you do not want to monitor. You can update this configuration at any time to change the types of system components you are currently monitoring.

In addition, you can use the text boxes under certain system components (clusters, servers, deployment environments, applications, and system databases) to further filter the monitoring results. Enter the full text or use partial text with a wildcard character. The text fields support two types of wildcards: the question mark (?) is a single-character wildcard and the asterisk (*) is a multi-character wildcard. You can enter multiple values delimited by a comma (,) or a carriage return.

Specify the rate at which the widget refreshes the information You can specify any positive value in the Refresh every numberOfSeconds seconds field; set it to 0 (zero) to prevent System Health from refreshing.
Tip: If you are displaying status for all system component types, note that setting a frequent refresh rate can affect performance.
Specify the number of rows to show per page For each system component you are monitoring, System Health displays only the number of rows you specify. All other rows are placed into tabbed pages; use the forward arrow (>) and back arrow (<) to navigate through the data. When you have configured System Health to display status for many system component types, use a smaller value for the Rows per page field to prevent the need for excessive scrolling.
Specify the maximin number of query results sent from the server to the client You can specify any positive value in the Maximum query result field.
  4. Click Save to save your configuration.
