Configuring the actions that users can take in the Task Information widget

You can configure the Task Information widget so that the users who work with the widget see only those actions that are valid for the work that they do.

Before you begin

You must be the page owner or an editor of the page to configure this widget.

Procedure

  1. Open the widget menu and select Edit Settings to see the configuration tabs.
  2. On the User Interaction tab, use the Capabilities pane to specify how users of the widget work with existing tasks, and the properties that they can set when they create tasks.
  3. On the User Interaction tab, use the Actions pane to specify the actions that you make available to the users of the widget. The default actions provided by the widget are shown. You can also specify additional custom actions and the modes in which these actions are available. To add a custom action, perform the following actions:
    1. Click Add custom action.
    2. Specify a name, a description of the action, and an action ID. The action ID must be prefixed by an underscore (_).
    3. Use the check boxes to specify when an action is available.
      Create
      The action is available when a task is opened in Task Information using the Create action in another widget, for example, the Task Definitions widgets.
      Edit
      The action is available when a task is opened in Task Information using the Edit action in another widget.
      View
      The action is available when a task is opened in Task Information using the View action in another widget.
  4. Click OK to save the configuration changes.
