Configuring how work is assigned

The working-continuously pattern provides a way to interact with tasks without using the Tasks List widget to select the next task to work on. When a user completes a task, the next task in the queue is automatically assigned to the user.

Before you begin

You must be the page owner or an editor of the page to configure this widget.

Procedure

  1. Open the widget menu and select Edit Settings to see the configuration tabs.
  2. On the Capabilities pane of the User Interaction tab, select the Accept next available task check box.
  3. Select a task list.
  4. Use the properties in the task list to set the criteria that are used to determine the order in which tasks are made available to the user. The position of a property in the list determines the importance of the property within the order criteria. The list can be ordered by each of the available properties in either ascending or descending order. The default sort order for each property is unordered. To change the sort direction, click the "-" sign to cycle between unordered, descending and ascending.
  5. Click OK to save the configuration changes.
