Spreadsheet (deprecated)

Spreadsheet displays a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

In the Spreadsheet widget, you can open a spreadsheet file to view its contents.
  • If your browser has a plug-in for Microsoft Excel, the widget displays the file. Currently, only Internet Explorer displays the contents of the file within the widget.
  • If your browser does not have the plug-in, you can open the file using an application that opens Microsoft Excel files or save the file.
  • If you are not using Internet Explorer, or you do not have the appropriate Microsoft product installed, then the widget does not display the file content correctly.
If you are the page owner or an editor, you can configure the Spreadsheet widget. The Spreadsheet widget has a single configuration setting. In the field, type the URL for the document that you want this widget to display. For example:
http://example.com/

If you can edit the page, you can wire the Spreadsheet widget to other widgets so that it receives and broadcasts events. Many widgets create wires automatically when they are added to a page. You can also create wires manually. Manually wiring a widget is a task that requires understanding of how to wire an event broadcast by one widget to an event received by another widget. You might need to create a script to transform the payload content of the broadcast event into a format understood by the receiving event.
