Changing the layout of pages in spaces

To organize the widgets on a page in a different pattern, or to use the screen real estate more efficiently, you can change the layout of the page.

About this task

You use a layout to position widgets on a page. A layout contains sections that define the horizontal boundaries of the widgets on the page. Each section can have more than one widget. For example, if you select a layout that has two columns and you place two widgets in one column, both widgets have the same width and one is above the other.
Restriction: If you are using the product spaces on an iPad, you cannot change the layout of a page.

Procedure

  1. Click Edit Page.
  2. On the palette, click the change layout button.
  3. From the list, select the layout that you want for the page. Depending on which layout you select, existing widgets might move to the leftmost section. You can move them to another section in the layout.
  4. If you want to resize a column:
    1. Hover the cursor over the column boundary. The cursor changes to a double arrow.
    2. Drag the boundary of the column to where you want it. When you decrease the width of one column, the width of the other column sharing the boundary increases. Any widgets in the two columns resize to fit.
  5. Click Save to save your changes without leaving Edit mode. Click Finish Editing when you have finished making all the changes to the page.

What to do next

You can now add widgets to the page, resize them, and move them from section to section.
