Mediation Policy Administration
Use the Mediation Policy Administration widget to work with mediation policies defined for a module or target service. Using mediation policies you can dynamically control service interactions, using contextual information.
Depending on the context, you can configure mediation flows by overriding the values of module properties. For example, you could turn on logging if a message was for a particular operation or for a particular target service.
Depending on whether your mediation policies are associated with modules or with target services, the Mediation Policy Administration widget interacts with different widgets.
Modules and mediation policies
If you want to work with mediation policies associated with modules, then create a business space that contains the Module Browser widget and the Mediation Policy Administration widget.
- Module: The name of the module you are working with.
- WSRR definition used: Initially, the default IBM® WebSphere® Service Registry and Repository (WSRR) definition. If you have more than one WSRR definition, make sure that you select the definition used by your module.
- Policy Attachment Name: If policy attachments exist in the WSRR you select, they are displayed. Policy attachments associate a mediation policy with a module or a target service (in WSRR, the mediation policy and the policy attachment are separate). You can use the icon after the Policy Attachment Name heading to sort the entries in ascending (^) or descending (v) order.
- New policy attachment: If you want to attach another mediation policy to your module, you can enter the attachment name and press Create...
Services and mediation policies
If you want to work with mediation policies associated with target services, then create a business space that contains the Service Browser widget and the Mediation Policy Administration widget.
- Service, Endpoint, or Operation: The name of the service, endpoint, or operation that you selected.
- WSRR definition used: The WSRR definition that you selected in the Service Browser widget.
- Policy Attachment Name: If policy attachments exist in the WSRR you select, they are displayed. Policy attachments associate a mediation policy with a module or a target service (in WSRR, the mediation policy and the policy attachment are separate). You can use the icon after the Policy Attachment Name heading to sort the entries in ascending (^) or descending (v) order.
- New policy attachment: If you want to attach another mediation policy to your service, endpoint, or operation, you can enter the attachment name and press Create...
